Kati is a high school English teacher at New Richmond High School in New Richmond, WI.  This is her 7th year teaching 9th and 10th grade English where she co-teaches with a special education teacher. Kati also instructs an “Enriched” 9th grade course which prepares students who may wish to take on a more rigorous academic challenge.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin River Falls, Kati was so inspired by her time working at the university’s Writing Center, she decided to take steps to implement and run a Writing Center for high school students later this year to challenge strong writers as well as to help those who are struggling. She is also starting a Reading and Writing Club for enthusiastic students to have space to stretch their creative muscles in writing and discuss what they have been reading. 

Kati recently married in August of 2023. She and her husband Phill love to embark on long hiking adventures and spontaneous road trips, especially in the summer months when Kati is not at school. Most recently, they enjoyed a honeymoon in Scotland and England. When she is not teaching or adventuring with Phill, Kati loves to curl up in a cozy blanket with a book (probably Jane Eyre again) and a warm cup of Earl Grey Tea.
